The Villagers fell to their first home league defeat of the new campaign on Saturday as they fell short against Cheadle Health Nomads.
A goal in either half was enough for the visitors to pick up all three points and maintain their own unbeaten start to the new campaign.
Winger Reece Dwyer was easily our brightest spark on what was a difficult afternoon for us, with Dwyer forcing their back four into a number of last-ditch challenges which resulted in two of the defenders picking up cautions.
The away side took the lead on the half hour mark when Kieran Herbert drove past Arran Lyons with a fierce effort from distance.
Going behind sparked us into life but we were unable to get ourselves back into the game and headed into the break behind.
Half Time: Barnton 0-1 Cheadle Heath Nomads
The second half saw Nomads control large periods of the game and they threatened on the break as we searched for a leveller, but we were hit on the break after 64 minutes when Daniel Browne buried his chance and doubled his side lead.
In truth it was a lead that Nomads never looked like giving up as they saw out the game with relative ease despite the continual threat from Dwyer who time and time again beat his man.
