We kick off our 2019/20 home campaign this afternoon when we host Wythenshawe Town at the Offside Trust stadium.
James McShane's men will be looking to pick up their second win of the season after picking up three points from their opening two games, with a win at Ellesmere Rangers before falling to defeat to Vuaxhall Motors on Tuesday.
We caught up with our new player coach Jordan Stafford who talked to us about the change: "It’s been a good transition, working with people like Macca and Page who have recently made that switch the advise they’ve given has been priceless, helping keep the balance between playing and coaching."
The experience of Michael Alcock and Gary Moore has been crucial: "Constant advice from Moey and Wal have also been great directing and advising me. We’ve got a group of lads here that want to learn and develop so Pre season was great to bed in smoothly."
The league campaign has got underway with one win and one defeat from their opening two games and Stafford is positive that the team can pick up win at home at the first time of asking: "We’ve had one great result and one we want to move on from, the best thing about football is you don’t have to wait to long to put things right, Saturday's another day and another chance to improve and get points on the board."
"I think we need to take the positives from both games, more leaders on the pitch, working for each other, and put them in to tomorrow’s performance."
Stafford is excited to be back at home and is hoping to see the continual rise in attendances across the season: "It will be nice to be back out at The Offside Trust Stadium. Last year our following grew and towards the back on of the season it felt like we had an edge at home, hopefully a new season the locals will get behind us and we can get a result for ourselves and them."
Kick off this afternoon is at 3pm and entry is just £5 adults and £3 for concessions.
